PEARSON

From Clutter to Clarity

Pearson entered the D2C language learning market by acquiring Mondly, a brand with a strong D2C customer experience. The Pearson design team was tasked with enhancing the experience to make it more academic. I explored different approaches to the customer onboarding flow and needed a high-fidelity prototype for testing within a month, requiring a fast-paced workflow.

The Flow

We managed to work on a flow that felt robust enough to hold user’s attention when onboarding to our app! It was important to highlight; where the user could drop-off, where we wanted the user to eventually get to and what stakeholders thought of this approach. You can see how the flow turned out, below!

Reflections


  • There were points in the process where I struggled creatively to come up with viable design solutions that felt truly bespoke to the experience. Fortunately, I was able to gather other designers for an impromptu ideation workshop, focusing specifically on a point in the journey where the user chooses their learning preferences. This collaboration was extremely helpful, and I won’t hesitate to seek help from my peers in the future!
